The Kiwanis Club of Washington was the 312th club organized under Kiwanis International on September 29, 1920. We have therefore named this blog Kiwanis 312. We are pleased to welcome you to our blog, which for the present must serve as our website.

The Kiwanis Club of Washington meets for lunch every Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Woman's Club, 108 North Alexander Avenue, Washington, Georgia, across Court Street from the Post Office.

Talks about dam security, August 25, 2005


Mitch Overend (left) was the guest speaker for the Washington Kiwanis Club at its regular Tuesday lunch meeting on August 23 where he discussed security issues of dams on the Savannah River. He specifically talked about threat analysis, vulnerability, risk, and the protection of critical dams on the river including Strom Thurmond, Hartwell, Richard B. Russell, and the Clemson Diversion Dam. Sherry Hudson (right) was program chairman for the day.
