After introduction by Jama Carper, the program host for the day, Melvin Crawford of Edward Jones Investing in Elberton told the members of the Kiwanis Club of Washington today, February 16, 2010, that now is a good time to buy tax-free bonds. Mr. Crawford explained how interest rates affect the several forms of investments and that a "sweet spot" is occurring now to make tax-free bonds at 4.5 percent a better investment than taxable bonds at 5.6 percent. ARTICLE IV. ADMISSION TO MEMBERSHIP AND RESIGNATION
Section 1. Prospective active members shall be considered for election to membership by invitation only or by transfer from an active Kiwanis club, under the following procedures:

Upon favorable action by the Board of Directors, the new and transferred members shall be notified personally concerning the action of the Board and the membership induction fee shall then be secured. The official admission into club membership shall be the date the foregoing requirements are completed, and that date shall be reported to Kiwanis International
