Local author and historian Skeet Willingham told the Washington Kiwanis Club about his new book, "Deadly Trust," at the club's regular lunch meeting last Tuesday. Willingham mentioned how the family stories about this incident piqued his interest about the two sisters in Philomath from a very early age. Through research, Willingham finally found some 1914 newspapers with headlines about the Nelms sisters. He then scoured census data and the internet for more information. Program chairman Bob Simmons said the program was "an extremely interesting talk about history of the times and a real story of intrigue."
